About Seikou Kiln
Seikou Kiln began in the early Taisho era as a Kutani painting workshop.
They were the first in the Kutani industry to introduce screen-printing techniques, allowing them to make high-quality everyday tableware at accessible prices.
Even with modern methods, their production remains highly artisanal.
Seikou develops its own Kutani pigments, prints all transfer sheets in-house, and hand-draws the original outlines that give their designs a warm, hand-painted feel. Skilled craftsmen manually apply each transfer before firing at around 900°C.
Through this blend of craftsmanship and careful manufacturing, Seikou Kiln offers beautiful, reliable, and affordable Kutani ware for daily use.
